Mixed Recycling

Recycling facilities in Camden

Residents can use their recycling bins, bags or boxes to recycle items such as paper, cardboard, plastic (bottles, pots, tubs and trays), glass (bottles and jars), and metal (tins and cans).

Items that cannot be recycled should be put into the rubbish bin or bags. Incorrect items will not be collected. Please do not put batteries, electricals or textiles in your recycling or rubbish.

 Food waste recycling

Some food waste is unavoidable but that doesn't mean it has to go to waste. Many homes in Camden receive a weekly food waste recycling service.

Use your small green kitchen caddy to collect all of your unavoidable food waste.

Put it in your brown lockable outdoor caddy by 7am on your collection day.

You can line your caddy or put food waste straight in. If you do line your caddy, please use a compostable caddy liner, old newspaper or kitchen paper. Please don’t use black bin bags to line your caddy.

Caddy liners can be collected from Camden libraries or leisure centres. Please call 020 3567 8105 if you require any assistance.

Communal food waste collections

Communal food waste collections

Most estates will have communal food waste bins which will be emptied weekly.

Please line your green kitchen caddy with compostable caddy liners and take your tied food waste to your estate’s food waste recycling bin. All food waste recycling bins have lockable lids to stop them smelling or rodents getting in.

Caddy liners can be collected from Camden libraries or leisure centres. Please call 020 3567 8105 if you require any assistance.

Rubbish bins and bags

You can put items that can’t be recycled in your rubbish bin or bags.

We won’t collect DIY rubbish such as rubble and plasterboard.

For any large items that don't fit into your bin, please call 020 3567 8105 to arrange a bulky waste collection.
